Shalani Tharaka is a Sri Lankan actress, model, dancer and beauty queen who won the Sri Lankan beauty pageant Sirasa Kumariya in 2007. She has starred on numerous television series, including “Isuru Bawana”, “Hansi”, “Samanalee”, “Api Api Wage” (I & II), “Ganga Addara” and “Sanda Sanda Wage”. Apart from that Tharaka has appeared in the TV commercials for Hero Honda, Raino and Janet. Born Gonakumbura Pangukarage Shalani Tharaka Wijayabandara on November 15, 1990 in Balangoda, Sri Lanka, to parents Suraji Fernando and Susantha Wijayabandara, she did her primary education at St. Agnes Convent, Balangoda and went to Newstead Girls College for her secondary education.
